Those Vietnamese who like to study for a master’s degree in Australia should be ready to apply for a grant from the Australia Awards 2016, as the Australian government will start receiving applications next month. Eighty full scholarships are available to Vietnamese applicants who are required to submit their profile online between February 1 and March 31, the Australia Awards Office in Vietnam said on its website. Winners will be entitled to full tuition fees, return air tickets, an establishment allowance, living expenses, an introductory academic program, overseas student health care, supplementary academic support, field work, and a pre-course English if required. Priority fields of study for master’s degrees for Vietnamese applicants include governance and economic reform, infrastructure, human resource development, gender, and disability. According to the website, men and women – especially those coming from ethnic minorities – from provincial and rural areas in Vietnam who meet eligibility and selection criteria are strongly encouraged to apply. Disadvantaged applicants – people with disabilities and those from designated poor areas – will be given special consideration. People who apply for the Australia Awards 2016 must have a formal university degree, belong to certain profiles and meet other related requirements, including a grade point average of at least 6.0 out of 10 and an IELTS or TOEFL iBT score. All applications must be online and hard copies will not be accepted, the website said. Detailed information can be found at http://www.australiaawardsvietnam.org.
