Today afternoon, the Khanh Hoa Forensic Center told Tuoi Tre News that it has received results of the autopsy of 27-year old American tourist Karin Joy Bowerman who died mysteriously with her Canadian friend while pack-backing in Vietnam last July.
The post-mortem analysis results arrived at the Khanh Hoa center this morning from the Central Forensic Center in Hanoi which analyzed the samples.
The Khanh Hoa Center said it will send the results to the city police as per procedures.
However, a local senior police officer told Tuoi Tre News that the results will not be released yet, pending opinions from city police leaders. This means although the cause of Karin’s death has been confirmed by Hanoi authorities, it will not be revealed for now.
Tuoi Tre News will announce the results once it knows.
In previous reports, on the afternoon of July 30, Cathy Huynh, a 27-year-old Canadian and her 28-year-old traveling US companion Karin Joy Bowerman felt tired and had the owner of the hotel where they shared a room during their week-long vacation in the city call a taxi to drive them to hospital.
They were reportedly fully conscious upon being hospitalized at a military hospital but both later died at another state-owned hospital under unusual circumstances.
