Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, of Kinh ethnicity, which makes up the majority of the Vietnamese population, was crowned 2013 Miss Ethnic Vietnam at the conclusion of the Quang Nam Festival held at the Hoi An theater on June 26.

Anh, from northern Thanh Hoa province, is currently a student at the Hanoi Open University.

The first runner up is Lo Thi Minh, who belongs to the H’Re ethnic minority and hails from northern Dien Bien province, while Nguyen Thi Loan, also a Kinh girl from Thai Binh province, was named the second runner up.

At the finale, 62 beauties, representing 21 of the 64 ethnic groups in the country and coming from 38 cities and provinces, competed in three categories, namely traditional costumes, swimsuits and evening gowns.

Six outstanding finalists were picked to enter the Interview round.

The organizers also gave away several auxiliary prizes, including Miss Friendly and Miss Quang Nam.

The beauty finale was a colorful end to the successful, striking 2013 Quang Nam Festival, several highlights of which included the International Choir Competition, the “ASEAN- South Korean heritage convergence” program, the re-creation of the early 20th century Hoi An town, and several folk music performances and street carnivals by art troupes from several countries. The festival attracted several thousand local and foreign tourists.
