Gourmet’s Delight Roast Kitchen, the first Hong Kong’s casual dining restaurant in Saigon, is the destination of choice for lovers of Cantonese cuisine, serving the most authentic and finest barbeque and traditional Cantonese dishes.

Hong Kong, the former British colony world-famous for its East-meets-West lifestyle and also known as Asia’s World City, is a foodie’s heaven. Discoverhongkong.com, a website run by Hong Kong’s Tourism Board, describes it as “a city of sizzling woks, tinkling wine glasses, boisterous celebrations, cosy eateries, pungent cooking aromas and celebrated culinary festivals, everywhere you turn there is the temptation to dig in and indulge.”

At Gourmet’s Delight, you will find all that culinary delicacies and laid-back atmosphere in one place, where diners have the most bona fide experience of Hong Kong food in the heart of Saigon, in bustling and vibrant District 1. The restaurant is decorated in contemporary style, with layered lighting from modern, unadorned lampshades, warm beige hue from luxury leather chairs, splashes of deep red from shimmering wallpaper, and huge mirrors reflecting the opalescent light.

Seafood lovers and carnivores alike are well-catered to, with a wide range of dishes rivaling some of the biggest restaurants in native Hong Kong to suit all taste buds. They range from the staple dishes of rice and noodles: the Vietnamese favourite Fried Rice in YangZhou Style (Com chien Duong Chau), Fried Hor Fun with Prawns and Scrambled Eggs (Hu tieu xao trung tom), etc; to the ubiquitous Hong Kong street food of Congee (Chao) and Wanton Soup (Hoanh thanh); to a mind-boggling list of over twenty seafood and meat dishes such as Baked Prawns with Salted Egg Yolks (Tom hap hot vit muoi) and Sauteed Diced Beef with Black Pepper (Bo luc lac chien tieu den).

“But the stars of Gourmet’s Delight are its barbeque and roast dishes,” said Lisa Leung, general manager of Gourmet’s Delight. “Any Chinese roast dish worth its salt is featured on our menu, each carefully prepared with our chef’s special recipe, including crispy Peking duck with freshly prepared pancakes, and barbequed pork in honey sauce. Diners can choose from an affordable VND160,000 for half a Fragrant Salt Steamed Chicken (Ga hap Quy Phi) to VND1,600,000 for a whole Roasted Sucking Pig, which graces great party with its crackling skin and succulent meat. Gourmet’s Delight is the place to be for when you crave genuine roast dishes.’

Every Saturday and Sunday, Gourmet’s Delight offers diners a chance to indulge in a palatable array of dishes from its Weekend Buffet, priced at VND350,000++ per adult or VND280,000++ per child under 12, where you can sample a cornucopia of mouth-watering Cantonese food in a great setting. The restaurant also offers a takeaway service throughout the week.
