Tuesday, June 25, 2013, 12:13 GMT+7

On June 24, American business magazine Forbes released its first-ever Vietnamese edition under the name of Forbes Vietnam.

The monthly Vietnamese version is published under a licensing agreement between the publisher of Forbes magazine, Forbes Media LLC, and Interactive Media, an IDG Ventures Vietnam portfolio company, and in cooperation with local Van Hoa Newspaper.

Forbes Vietnam publishes feature articles on entrepreneurs, executives, business owners, celebrities and philanthropists. Besides local content created by the Forbes Vietnam editorial team, the Vietnamese edition will also have access to Forbes stories from around the world.

Nguyen Bao Hoang, head of Interactive Media, said that the online version of Forbes Vietnam is expected to be launched three months after the printed edition’s inaugural release.

“The launch of Forbes Vietnam is an important milestone for Forbes’ expansion in the Asia Pacific region. It is also timely given Vietnam’s rising economic prospects and its fast-growing community of CEOs, tycoons, philanthropists, investors and aspiring entrepreneurs,” William Adamopoulos, CEO of Asia for Forbes Media LLC stated.

“The Forbes Vietnam editorial team is pleased to be a part of this exciting moment as Forbes Vietnam becomes a reality. We look forward to chronicling the stories of entrepreneurial success that stems from this country,” Lan Anh Nguyen, Executive Editor of Forbes Vietnam and a former Contributing Editor at Forbes Asia added.

Forbes Vietnam is initially expected to sell 25,000 copies per month.

First launched in 1917 in the US, Forbes Media LLC publishes 29 international editions including six versions in Asia, Forbes Asia, Forbes China, Forbes Korea, Forbes India, Forbes Indonesia and Forbes Thailand. Altogether, the Forbes brand in Asia has a circulation of some 425,000.
