Vietnam will organize the 46th International Chemistry Olympiad in the capital city of Hanoi later this month.
The International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) is a chemistry competition for high school students under 20 from around the world with the aim of promoting international contacts in chemistry.
The IChO also helps facilitate cordial relations between young adults of different nationalities and encourage their cooperation and international understanding.
It has been organized every year since 1968 in one of the participating countries by their respective education ministries or an appropriate institution of the organizing country.
This year, the contest in Vietnam is expected to attract 300 contestants of 80 delegations from 80 countries and territories. The Southeast Asian country has mobilized more than 400 people, including experts, teachers, and volunteers for the academic event.
Vietnam has sent contestants to the competition since 1996 and always won high awards.
The 46th International Chemistry Olympiad will take place from July 20 to 29.
