All Vietnamese are welcome to participate in an international competition on climate change supported by the German Federal Foreign Office.

The “Planetary Urbanism – Critique of the Present in the Medium of Information Design” contest is open for registration from December 1, 2014 to April 30, 2015 and submissions must be received by May 31, 2015.

It is designed to encourage decision-makers, students and citizens to rethink urbanization, thus creating awareness of climate change in the context of urban living and possibly providing solutions, the German Federal Foreign Office says on its website.

The contest is open to designers from the fields of architecture, urban and regional planning, environmental planning, graphic, product and media design, statistics, cartography, photography, film and the visual arts.

Besides, scientists working in the areas of art and cultural theory, art education, information and communication sciences, social sciences, economics, environmental sciences and geosciences as well as students from the said fields are also advised to submit their entries.

The jury will choose the prize winners from the submitted works and select the number of prize winners and the distribution of the prize money. The contest’s total prize pool is 20,000 euro (US$23,712).

The competition is being held by ARCH+ Journal for Architecture and Urbanism with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office and consultation by the German Advisory Council on Global Change.
