A tropical depression that is moving in the East Sea is forecast to upgrade into a storm and strike the southern provinces this afternoon or tomorrow.
A representative of VJA said that the airline will arrange other flights tomorrow for passengers whose flights were cancelled today if weather conditions permits or passengers can get a refund for their tickets.
The low-cost flag carrier said they will increase the number of flights from and to Cam Ranh on November 7. Weather information and flight schedules are available at www.vietjetair.com.
Meanwhile, Vietnam Airlines has halted 14 flights from and to Cam Ranh and Nha Trang after the aviation authorities in the central region’s announcement that they will not receive any airplanes to Cam Ranh airport from 11am on Nov. to 6am on Nov. 7 due to expected bad weather.
The airline added it will resume flights after Cam Ranh airport is re-opened.
Hydrofoil services on HCMC-Vung Tau route will be also suspended starting from 1pm on November 6 due to the expected severe weather conditions.
“10 hydrofoil trips between HCMC-Vung Tau with more than 100 passengers on board were suspended as of Nov. 6 afternoon. All hydrofoils operating on this route have been moved to HCMC to take a shelter” – an official said.
