Vietnamese police have detained two suspects in the killing of an Indian manager at a company in the north-central province of Nghe An. Provincial police officers on Sunday afternoon said they had arrested two people suspected of murdering Nathusingh, a 48-year-old Indian man, in Chau Tien Commune, Quy Hop District, on Saturday.

The identifications of the suspects have yet to be disclosed. At 8:00 pm, locals in the commune found Nathusingh lying dead on a road, about 500 meters from the Chau Tien People’s Committee. They reported the death to police, who rushed to the scene to handle the case. Police later found a motorbike left about 1km from the scene, and the vehicle was later confirmed to belong to the dead victim.  Officers performed an autopsy on the victim and said that many stab and slash wounds were found on his body. Nathusingh had worked as a manager for Wolkem India Ltd., which formed a joint venture with a Vietnamese company, Lam Hong, to mine white stone in the commune. A source from the two companies said the Indian man lost a wallet, a gold ring and a pair of gold earrings. Provincial police are assisting their counterparts in Quy Hop in investigating the case. At an urgent meeting on Sunday, Nghe An Party Committee Secretary Ho Duc Phuoc urged local police to reach a conclusion on their investigation as soon as possible.
