- Japan’s Tokyu Corp. and its Vietnamese partner on Tuesday inaugurated a complex housing Japanese-style restaurants, convenience stores,  shopping and cuisine sections. The new complex is located in the heart of the New Binh Duong City, southern Binh Duong Province’s new administrative center, about a 1.5-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City.

- The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) announced on Tuesday that the benchmark inter-bank foreign exchange rate between the Vietnamese dong and the U.S. dollar has officially been raised by 1% to VND21,458 per U.S. dollar.

- Poultry raisers for meat have to pay 14 different kinds of fees, CEO of Saigon Agriculture Inc. told a Tuesday meeting, which gathered comments on the draft Veterinary Law and Labor Safety and Hygiene Law.

- Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam told Tuoi Tre (Youth) Newspaper on Tuesday that the National money printing and coinage factory is now also tasked with producing gold bars and golden souvenirs.

- Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh has decided to sell the entire state capital at Vinamotor Vietnam Group.

- Many international tour operators in Vietnam are on edge in the past several days over a new regulation of the country’s Immigration Law, which took effect in late December 2014. The new regulation rules result in considerably longer time, higher immigration fees and burdensome visa application among cruise ship travelers and short-term visitors.

- Deputy Transport Minister on Tuesday announced the appointment of Le Kim Thanh- vice CEO of Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC)- as the new general director of the ministry’s Railway Project Management Unit starting Saturday.

- The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has just proposed to the city’s People’s Committee several measures to keep a tight rein on ownership of personal transports of means, including hikes on special consumption tax, and a requirement of earning ownership of personal transport means through auctions.

- A couple, their eight-year-old son and unborn child were killed in a crash which happened on Monday evening in Huong Hoa District in northern Vietnam’s Quang Tri Province. The husband was carrying his pregnant wife and their two sons on a motorbike while a seven-seat car bumped hard into them from behind, causing them to lose balance and crash into the rear of a parking truck. The couple's other son, aged 10, is critically injured.
