Four main roads with a total length of 11.9km are expected to be built at an investment cost of VND12 trillion (US$569 million) in Thu Thiem, a new urban area of Ho Chi Minh City.
This information has been confirmed by Trang Bao Son, deputy head of deputy head of the Investment and Construction Authority of Thu Thiem New Urban Area.
The construction of the project is scheduled to begin after Tet holiday (Vietnamese lunar new year) from Jan. 27 to Feb 4, and is slated to be completed in 36 months.
The road project will build 3.4km Crescent Boulevard, 3km Central Lake Park Drive, 3km Water Front Park, and 2.5km high road to eco-Forest Park.
The investors of the project are Vietnam Infrastructure Development and Finance Investment Joint Stock Company (VIDIFI) and Dai Quang Minh Real Estate Corporation, according to the official website of Thu Thiem New Urban Area.
Thu Thiem is a 657 hectare land plot along the Saigon River in District 2. Local authorities are planning to turn it into a new urban area and a financial, commercial, and entertainment center.
