The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training organized the opening ceremony of a training course on Vietnamese language teaching for overseas Vietnamese teachers on Wednesday.

The course, entitled “Training course on teaching Vietnamese language for overseas Vietnamese teachers,” is running in Hanoi and is intended to improve the quality of Vietnamese teaching for the overseas community.

It gathers around 30 teachers from many countries, including the Czech Republic, Germany, Laos, Thailand, Taiwan, the UK, Romania, Poland and France.

“In reality, I see many Vietnamese families living in other countries who meet troubles in teaching their children because they are not good at their mother language and have received Western cultural values since they were little,” Nguyen Thu Loan, a Vietnamese language teacher in Germany shared.

“Teaching them Vietnamese will help spread Vietnamese culture and nurture the love for their roots. They are the bridge linking Vietnam to the world.”

After the course, participants will be awarded certificates and become positive members of the Vietnamese language teaching team in other countries.

The course is scheduled to run until July 12.
