In photos: crash scene of Vietnamese military aircraft

One pilot was killed after a Vietnamese military aircraft crashed onto the ground during an exercise above the south-central province of Phu Yen on Friday morning.

According to a source close to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper, the deceased victim is Pham Duc Trung, one of the two pilots boarding the L-39 training aircraft, coded 8705 from Regiment 910 when the accident happened at around 8:30 am.

A local said the plane had crashed into the median strip on the National Highway No.1A before hitting a man and severely injuring him on its way to the rice field.
