-- A person in the southern Vietnamese province of Tien Giang has recently found a 400kg bomb while fishing. The object has been moved to a safe area.

-- A number of Vietnamese Americans on Wednesday attended an exchange at the American Center in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City to share their experience in returning to Vietnam and pursuing a career in their homeland. The event was part of a series of talks held by the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to connect Vietnamese in Vietnam and in the U.S.

-- Hong Kong enterprises are encouraged to invest in infrastructure in Vietnam, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said while receiving a business delegation from Hong Kong on Wednesday afternoon.

-- In 2016, Vietnam exported US$638 million worth of tires to 125 markets around the world. Meanwhile, the country imported $370 million worth of other kinds of tire Vietnam is unable to produce.

-- The PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation has marked its 10 millionth barrel of oil exploited in Sahara Desert in Algeria since its first exploitation in August 2015.

-- The Nha Trang Sea Festival will be organized from June 13 to 23 with a series of 50 activities including beach games, a street festival, a beer festival and two contests on promoting local tourism with smartphones and drones.

-- The An Giang Tourism Month will be held from May 16 to 26, the provincial Department of Tourism announced on Wednesday.

-- Hanoi is planning to turn its Opera House into a tourist attraction, offering tourism services combining traditional art performances.

-- An exhibition featuring Japanese manga comics will take place from May 12 to 26 at the Ho Chi Minh City Exhibition House in District 1 with free admission.

Sports

-- Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper is launching a campaign called “10.000 Footsteps –Change Your Life” in the hope of raising people’s awareness of physical training for better health. The campaign will kick off with a walk on May 14 in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, with the participation of an estimated 5,000 people.
