Politics:

- On November 11, President Truong Tan Sang joined people at Ward 5 in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 3to celebrate the National Great Unity Festive Day. The Day was observed on the occasion of the founding of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18), which marked its 82nd year this year.

- Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on November 11 visited Hai Chung commune, Hai Hau district in Nam Dinh province. At a working session with the local authorities, the Party leader said he is delighted with significant socio-economic progress the local Party committee, authorities and people have obtained recently.

Society:

- Regarding to the new regulation on penalty for using vehicles without ownership, Major-General Nguyen Van Tuyen, head of the Railway and Road Traffic Police Department informed that the penalty will only be applied for riders who buy vehicles from the others without vehicle's ownership transferring document.

- Tuoi Tre correspondents together with the Ho Chi Minh City Forest Protection Department and the city’s anti-environmental crime police department have recently released 16 wild animals whose names listed in Red Book from a wild animal feeding farms in Binh Thanh District, District 8 and 10.

- The National Search and Rescue Committee Office has informed that on November 11, the Philippines’ rescue vessel numbered PG-383 took the Quang Ngai fishing boat with the plate number QNg-90207TS which has been broken since November 8 and its 11 crew members to the Palawan port in the Philippines successfully.

Lifestyle:

- Thousands paper sunflowers were made on November 11 at HCMC Youth Cultural House during Tuoi Tre newspaper’s Sunflower Festival to raise fund for child cancer patients across the country. The event attracted a lot numbers of local residents including students from universities around the city, children a group of disable people as well as expats living in HCMC.

- The Hanoi International Film Festival will officially kick off on November 25. According to the organizers, there will be screening of 80 movies from 38 countries and territories.

- Fans of the well-known movie series “Twilight” will have chance to watch five episodes of the series continuously at an event titled “Vietnamese Twilight Fans Gathering” held at MegaStar Vincom in Hanoi and MegaStar Crescent Mall in HCMC on November 15.

Business:

- Since 6pm of November 11, 92-RON gasoline has been cut by VND500 per liter to VND23,150, according to the new announcement of the Ministry of Finance. Also the price of fuel oil is down VND500 per kg to VND18,150 a kilogram, also, while prices of diesel and kerosene stay the same at VND21,850 and VND21,900 per liter, respectively.

- The Department of Plant Protection in Lam Dong Province has just transferred the technique to grow “standard carrot” to farmers at Trai Mat and Xuan Tho farms in Da Lat. With the new method of planting, the city is expected to provide around 5,000 tons of hig quality carrot for local market.
