-- Vietnamese police on Monday launched a manhunt for Vu Dinh Duy, who has been on the run since October 2016 to apparently dodge responsibility in sending a state-invested yarn making plant to losses. Legal proceedings have been initiated against four other individuals involved in the case earlier this month.

-- Sawaco, the water utility of Ho Chi Minh City, has proposed building multi-story parking garages on the space to be cleared following the planned removal of several century-old water towers in the southern metropolis.

-- The man who crashed into multiple cars after speeding in the wrong direction through the Saigon River Tunnel last week may be criminally charged, police said on Monday, revealing that the financial damage caused by the reckless driving was estimated at more than VND100 million (US$4,405).

-- The administration of the northern province of Quang Ninh has tasked relevant agencies with looking into complaints from members of the public that some limestone karts near the province’s famed Ha Long Bay are being illegally mined.
