Residents of a Ho Chi Minh City neighborhood have joined hands to apprehend a group of robbers who attempted to steal from a local home.

A gang of four criminals carried out a robbery at a house in Binh Tan District at around 1:30 pm on Tuesday, one breaking into the residence while the other three waited on two motorbikes.

After getting home, Q., 38, the home owner, discovered that the main door was unlocked before calling for help, suspecting that a robbery had taken place.

Following her distress signal, one gang member ran down from the first floor, trying to escape with her belongings.

Q. spotted the man and grabbed his shirt but was unable to stop him from running toward his accomplices waiting outside.

As the criminals started their motorbikes, the woman held one of the vehicles and knocked it sideways, causing two gang members to fall on the ground.

Local residents arrived shortly after to assist Q.’s effort and managed to capture three of the four thieves.

“They dropped my tablet and smartphone while fleeing. I later found out that my laptop was also missing,” Q. recalled.

According to the witnesses, one of the suspects was hospitalized for his injuries after falling off the motorbike and being beaten by local residents.

Further investigation is being carried out by local police officers.
