The move came after the developer of the affluent expat-packed residential area Phu My Hung in the district had called on the municipal administration to pinpoint the source of the vile odor that has been dogging its dwellers and those in neighboring areas over the last few months. -- Several areas throughout Ho Chi Minh City remained deluged as of Saturday noon after an hours-long downpour had lashed the city and inundated its Tan Son Nhat International Airport, affecting many flights from and to the southern metropolis on Friday evening. -- A preschooler was reunited with her family on Saturday afternoon after she had been allegedly taken to the police station in Hai Ba Trung District in Hanoi, while being driven to a kindergarten in La Gi Town in the south-central province of Binh Thuan, together with her father, who is now in police custody for document forgery. The police officers claimed that the father had insisted he take his little girl along to the police station. -- Police in Ky Anh Town in the north-central Vietnamese province of Ha Tinh revealed on Saturday that they are looking into a case in which two traffic inspectors had been caught receiving bribes from rule-breaking tanker drivers on Wednesday.Business -- Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc directed at a seminar on Saturday meant to promote investment in the south-central province of Ninh Thuan that facilities based in coastal areas be environmentally friendly. -- During a workshop on Saturday addressing environment-related damage on the central coastline in recent months and solutions to tackle the situation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development came up with four options to restore fishing activities but no consensus on which one to adopt was reached as the meeting closed.Sports -- The Vietnamese team of physically- challenged athletes attended a Saturday ceremony before they leave for the Paralympic 2016, to take place from September 7 to 18 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
