Business

-- Vietnam's Vietjet Air has signed a US$300 million financing deal with AV AirFinance, witnessed by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc and other senior officials during an official mission to boost U.S.–Vietnam economic and trade ties, the carrier said in a press release on Thursday.

US Tariffs

-- “We consider the U.S. decision to suspend countervailing duties for 90 days on exports from several countries, including Vietnam, a positive step,” the Vietnamese foreign ministry's spokesperson affirmed on Thursday.

-- The American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AmCham) told the press on Thursday that it had actively lobbied for the tariff suspension, calling it a necessary step to give U.S. and Vietnamese businesses time to prepare for and adapt to the proposed new tariffs.

Environment
