The body of a British tourist has been found one day after he was swept away by strong waves at a beach in the central Vietnamese province of Quang Nam.
Authorities in Tam Thanh Commune, Tam Ky City confirmed on Monday morning they had found the body of Robin Justin Williams, a 50-year-old visitor from the United Kingdom.
The victim was discovered about 1.5 kilometers from where he first went missing after being hit by strong waves at Tam Thanh Beach.
The accident happened on Sunday afternoon when Williams and his friends cycled from Hoi An City to Tam Thanh Beach for a swim.
After he was washed away by strong waves, his friends immediately reported the incident to local authorities.
Rescuers and local residents had used their boats and speedboats to look for the victim until his body was found washing up ashore at around 7:00 am on the following day.
