Even though threatening cracks and water leakage have been found in the dam of the Song Tranh 2 hydropower plant in Quang Nam central province since last month, hundreds of fishermen have rushed there to catch fish as there are abundant resources of aquatic products in the lake.

The best time to net fish is when water in the lake subsides. As a routine, the fishermen mend nets and prepare other fishing equipment by day and catch fish by night.

The noise of the fish market at the foot of the Song Tranh 2 hydropower plant is heard every morning when fish are brought ashore and transported to Tra My district for sale.

Water level at the lake has dramatically dropped. It is a good opportunity for local fishermen to earn their livelihoods by catching fish.
