The Vietnamese Consulate General is working with U.S. competent agencies to allow relatives of four Vietnamese students who were injured in a fatal road accident in Seattle, Washington on September 24 (U.S. time) to visit them, according to Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The consulate, relevant U.S. agencies, and North Seattle Community College are cooperating with one another to help the family members of the four students complete procedures to fly to the U.S. and visit them.

According to the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, three out of the four have been discharged from hospital. The other is also recuperating well.

Shortly following the crash, the ministry sent a delegation led by Deputy Consul General Cao Vu Mai to Seattle.

Representatives of the Vietnamese consulate, based in San Francisco, will also work with the head of North Seattle Community College’s International Students Department to provide support for the injured.

Relatives of the students enrolled in the college can call the hotline 415-425-0228 or contact Deputy Consul General Cao Vu Mai and Deputy Consul Pham Ngoc Cuong at + 1 (415) 645 3198 and + 1 (415) 309 7238, respectively, for further information.

Four people were killed and 12 critically injured on September 24 when an amphibious tour bus and a charter bus carrying foreign college students collided head-on on the Aurora Bridge in Seattle, Reuters cited local authorities as saying.

North Seattle Community College said in a statement that approximately 45 students and employees from its International Program were on the charter bus.

Four people died at the scene. Among the 44 injured, 12 were in critical condition and 32 received non-life threatening injuries, Reuters quoted officials as saying.
