Under an agreement recently signed between Vietnam and Estonia, holders of diplomatic passports of both countries will enjoy visa exemption. The deal was entered into by Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and his Estonian counterpart Urmas Paet in New York last Friday, September 27.

This agreement is considered to create a move forward in bilateral ties as it facilitates the entry, exit and travel of diplomatic passport holders of the two countries, whose diplomatic ties was established on February 20, 1992. Also the same day, Minister Minh held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Djibouti and Papua New Guinea to discuss measures to promote bilateral ties.

During the meetings, Minh also sought support for Vietnam’s candidacy as a member of the United Nations Human Right Council for the 2014-2016 term.
