Nguyen Van Hoa, chairman of the Que Son administration, on Saturday announced that local authorities have suspended the operation of Con Cung kindergarten, located in Que My.
Relevant agencies are working with the owner of the nursery, and the two children shown being physically abused in the video have been taken to a hospital for examination and treatment, Hoa told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper.
He added that local police are collecting information and evidence for the investigation, and that any violations will be strictly punished.
Local officials have also visited the children at the hospital and met with their families to offer support.
Brutal child abuse
On Friday, social media was set abuzz with video clips posted by a Facebook user named Thuy Tan, the mother of one of the abused children. The clips showed acts of violence occurring at the Con Cung nursery.
T.T.T., the holder of the Thuy Tan account, told Tuoi Tre that she discovered the abuse of her 20-month-old son after a friend—whose child also attends the nursery—accidentally checked the footage.
One of the clips, recorded at 11:55 am on Friday, shows a group of children sleeping. A woman approaches one of them, grabs the child’s legs, and repeatedly hits them with an object resembling a wooden stick, causing the child to cry in pain.
She then moves on to another child and does the same.
In a particularly disturbing moment, the woman is seen stuffing the same object into a child’s mouth while the child is crying.

The post quickly went viral, garnering over 1,400 comments and more than 1,600 shares within three hours.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre on Saturday, T. identified the woman in the video as N.N.U.L., the owner of the Con Cung nursery.
She stated that L. had refused to grant her access to the nursery’s surveillance cameras, despite her son having attended this class for a month.
After watching the video and realizing her son had been abused three times during Friday noon, T. called L. to confront her.
L. later visited T.’s home, then cried, apologized, and pleaded for forgiveness. However, T. rejected the apology and reported the case to the police.
T. said her son suffered minor scratches and bruises on his mouth and remains in a state of fear and anxiety.
