The tropical storm hit the northern part of the country in the afternoon, killing two, injuring two, and leaving one missing in Son La Province.
One person died in Hai Phong City and another was wounded in Nghe An Province in the wake of the powerful storm.

Typhoon Kujira weakened to a tropical depression after entering Quang Ninh Province and Hai Phong late Wednesday afternoon, with the strongest winds reaching around 90kph.
As of 5:00 pm, the center of the tropical depression was inland in an area located between the two localities, with the strongest winds blowing at 50-60kph and above.
The typhoon caused heavy rain and severe flooding in the northern mountainous provinces, damaging property in the areas it swept through. The tropical depression will move further northwest at about 10kph and weaken into a low pressure system in the next 24 hours, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
By tomorrow afternoon, the eye of the low pressure area will be in the northern mountainous region with the strongest winds reaching less than 40kph, the center said.
Due to the effects of the tropical depression’s circulation, the northern area of the Gulf of Tonkin will experience very rough seas, while the coastal areas from Quang Ninh to Nam Dinh Provinces will see rough seas tonight and tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the northeastern region will have moderate and heavy rain, causing flooding with water levels of 3-6 meters upstream and 2-3 meters downstream in the Hong (Red) and Thai Binh Rivers on Wednesday and Thursday.
In addition, there will be a high risk of floods, flash floods and landslides in the northern mountainous provinces, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
