A music festival attended by professional U.S. artists has amazed children in Ho Chi Minh City with dozens of familiar Disney characters.
The “Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival,” which took place on Tuesday at Hoa Binh Theater in District 10, attracted more than 1,000 audience members, particularly children.
The show is part of a series of Broadway-quality, interactive touring theater productions by Feld Entertainment, a U.S.-based live show production company, across many countries, including the Philippines, Japan, Singapore, and Spain.
All the Disney-themed songs, which have long been known among children, were remixed with the latest music styles such as hip hop, pop, swing, reggae, rock, and country.
Most of the songs were sung in English, while conversations between the main characters were dubbed into Vietnamese to help children understand the stories easily.
Fifty U.S. artists transformed into children’s 25 favorite Disney characters from films and television, such as Mickey and Minney Mouse, Donald Duck, the Disney Princesses, Goofy Dog, the street rat Aladdin, and the genie of the lamp.
The show will be staged in Ho Chi Minh City between September 29 and October 5 at Hoa Binh Theater, and in Hanoi from October 10 to 11 at the Vietnam National Convention Center in Tu Liem District.
