Cold front, rains hit northern Vietnam, while south faces scorching heat

A strong cold air mass remains dominant in the northern region, bringing chilly temperatures and scattered showers, according to the national weather center.

Meanwhile, southern localities, including Ho Chi Minh City, are experiencing sweltering heat during the day, with thunderstorms expected in the late afternoon and evening.

In the northwestern region, the weather is cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms. 

Temperatures dip to 18 degrees Celsius at the lowest and rise to 24 degrees Celsius during the day, with a noticeable chill in some areas.

The northeast experiences similar conditions, with mild rain in places, and a drop in temperatures. In some areas, the cold is more pronounced.

Hanoi is seeing a mostly cloudy day with occasional light rain. Temperatures range from 19 to 24 degrees Celsius.

From Thanh Hoa to Quang Ngai Provinces, scattered showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast, while in the central coastal stretch from Da Nang to Binh Thuan, temperatures are between 23 and 33 degrees Celsius.

The Central Highlands region is cloudy and sunny, with temperatures reaching up to 33 degrees Celsius.

Southern Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City, continues to experience hot and sunny conditions, with scorching temperatures hitting up to 35 degrees Celsius.

In the evening, showers and thunderstorms are expected to provide some relief.
