Da Nang reports suspected monkeypox case

People who have come in close contact with a suspected case must monitor their health for 21 days or until the suspected case tests negative

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Da Nang City, central Vietnam on Wednesday informed medical agencies citywide of a probable monkeypox (Mpox) case at Da Nang Hospital.

The Da Nang CDC asked medical units to adopt measures to prevent the possible spread of the disease, including putting the suspected Mpox patient under quarantine and making a list of people who have been in close contact with the case.

These people need to self-monitor their health for 21 days following contact with the suspected case or until the suspected case tests negative.

The Da Nang Hospital will also have to undergo disinfection.

The CDC Da Nang asked the Medical Center of Lien Chieu District to collect more information about the suspected case and related people.

The Lien Chieu Medical Center on the same day provided chloramine B for the family of the suspected case in Lien Chieu's Hoa Binh Ward to disinfect their house.
