Hanoi’s CPI to edge down in April

Hanoi’s CPI to edge down in April

Hanoi’s consumer price index (CPI) in April is forecast to fall by 0.1 percent against the previous month, according to the Hanoi Industry and Trade Department.

The forecast is based on the downtrend of essential goods’ prices, particularly foodstuff thanks to the abundant supply.

The department is currently implementing a plan to ensure market stability, while developing a sale network in suburbs and surrounding industrial zones as well as stepping up market management to prevent and fight smuggling and trade frauds in the city.

Hanoi CPI in March edged down 0.21 percent against the previous month but rose 2.04 percent and 5.7 percent over last December and over the same period last year, respectively.
