The “Energy Bank” idea by Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong and Dang Mai Anh from Ho Chi Minh City Foreign Trade University has recently won the national round of a global energy contest and the two will compete at the East Asia regional semi-final next month.

Duong and Anh will represent Vietnam to vie with other national round winning teams from nine East Asian countries and territories – including Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and Taiwan – at the East Asia regional semi-final of the “Go Green in the City 2014” global contest.

This semi-final round will be held in HCMC from April 4 to 17.

Winning the round, finalists will receive a digital certificate and will advance to the final competition, to be organized from June 17 to 21 in Paris, with their travel and accommodation being sponsored by the organizer Schneider Electric.

The final winning team will have an opportunity to work with Schneider Electric together with a chance to visit the France-based multinational electricity corporation’s offices in two different countries.

The innovation contest aims to pool business ideas that are dedicated to energy solutions for cities around the world.
