While petrol price remains unchanged, the prices of diesel, mazut, and kerosene will slightly go down from 83 VND to 124 VND a liter as of 3:00pm today at the instruction of the Ministry of Finance. US$1 equals VND20,800.
According to the finance ministry, the diesel price will decrease at least 83 dong a liter, mazut at least 100 dong a kilogram, and kerosene 124 dong a liter.
So, fuel trading corporations in Vietnam will sell diesel no higher than VND22,517 a liter, mazut VND18,360 a kilogram, and kerosene VND22,356 a liter.
The decision of the finance ministry has been sent to local fuel trading corporations.
Early last month, the ministries of industry-trade and finance rejected a request from fuel wholesalers for a rise in retail prices, the third refusal since January, even though the dealers complained they were making a loss.
Last year gasoline prices went up by 2.18 percent year on year in Vietnam although they slumped six times in total.
