In photos: Dazzling celebrations for 2014 in Vietnam

With fireworks and count-down parties, hundreds of thousands of revelers in Vietnam gathered in downtown areas to welcome 2014 and wished for a very happy and prosperous new year.

In Ho Chi Minh City, fireworks sprayed at a site near Ho Chi Minh Museum - Dragon House Wharf while a dazzling countdown party was organized in Phu My Hung residential area in district 7 at midnight.

An art show entitled “Welcome 2014” was held on a floating stage on a section of Tau Hu – Ben Nghe canal which runs through Ben Van Dong street in district 4, Ho Chi Minh City. The show appealed thousands of people.

In Hanoi, fireworks lighted up the sky as thousands of people gathered to watch at August Revolution Square in Hanoi. Among attendees were State President Truong Tan Sang and 800 artists.

In Hue, 5,000 young people welcomed 2014 attended a night concert to welcome the new year.
