American man Kyo York, who is known in Vietnam for singing Vietnamese songs very well, has recently made a cover of the song “Con Gai” (Girls) by Ngoc Le, on the occasion of the Women’s Day March 8.
“I dedicate this to women on March 8. Wish a half of the world will always be pretty and cute in the eyes of the remaining part of the world,” Kyo wrote on Youtube where he posted the video on March 6.
In the video, the singer plays both roles of a man and a woman, singing fluently the Vietnamese song. At the end of the clip, Kyo also shared several tips for men to treat the women they love.
“In conclusion, treat your girls as if 360 days of the year are March 8,” he concluded.
Kyo York’s “Con Gai” has gathered more than 4,000 views from the music sharing site’s users with numerous compliments.
“I’ve known this song for quite a long time and Kyo has just made a cute cover of it,” Huynh Vy commented, while Lan Anh expressed “Thank you Kyo, watching this makes me see myself more beautiful.”
Kyo York has shared with Tuoi Tre that he made the video after seeing many men beating women.
“I make this video with the hope that men will always respect women and women will be stronger to handle with domestic violence,” Kyo shared.
Earlier, Kyo also drew attention of local netizens when expressing on his Facebook page 13 bad habits of a small number of Vietnamese people in cinemas, including speaking loudly, sitting at wrong chairs, etc.
The American man then received lots of likes and comments on the page where many netizens shared with him, saying they were also in the same situation.
