Vietnamese contestant Xuan Thuy has made it to the final five of the Mrs World 2016 pageant hosted by South Korea.

In the finale on November 4 in Incheon, the Vietnamese beauty was named among the five finalists, alongside representatives from Peru, Russia, Costa Rica and Moldova.

The five answered why they wanted to become Mrs World in the final gala.

After the question, Peru’s Giuliana Zevallos was crowned Mrs World 2016 while Khramova Iuliia from Russia was named the first runner-up.

Moldovan Tatiana Sidorova was chosen as the second runner-up, followed by Maureen Boza (Costa Rica) and Xuan Thuy (Vietnam).

The result was a remarkable achievement for Xuan Thuy, as she decided on joining the pageant just a few days ahead of it, replacing Mrs Vietnam World 2016 runner-up Tracy Hang Nguyen.

She also won the Best National Costume prize, making it the second consecutive year that a Vietnamese contestant has claimed the Best National Costume award at a Mrs World contest. Kelly Trang Tran also clinched it last year.

Xuan Thuy was born on February 1, 1987 and lives in Texas, with her husband, who is a businessman of Vietnamese origin. They have one son.

The Mrs Vietnam World 2017 competition will kick off soon to find a representative for Mrs World 2017 in Beijing, China.
