The U.S. Embassy in Hanoi is calling for applications for the Fulbright Vietnamese Student Scholarship Program.

The Fulbright Vietnamese Student Program is a competitive, merit-based scholarship program that enables successful candidates to pursue a master’s degree program beginning in the 2018-19 academic year, according to a press release from the embassy on Wednesday.

The program supports master’s study in most social sciences and humanities fields, including, but not limited to, American studies, communications, education, economics, business, law, international relations, journalism, library science, public administration, social work, public health, public policy, TESOL, gender and women studies, and more.

The competition is open to applicants who meet the program’s minimum criteria, including holding single Vietnamese citizenship, at least two years of post-graduation work experience, and a valid minimum TOEFL iBT score of 79 or IELTS 6.5

The scholarship will cover tuition and fees, a monthly stipend, round-trip airfares to the U.S., and health insurance.

Candidates must apply online at: https://apply.embark.com/student/fulbright/international/20/.

A complete online application package includes an application form, three letters of reference, diplomas and transcripts with notarized English translations, TOEFL/IELTS score reports, and a CV.

The deadline to submit applications for the program is 5:00 p.m., April 15, 2017.

Details on information sessions in major cities/provinces to guide prospective candidates through the application process can be found on the Fulbright website at: https://vn.usembassy.gov/education-culture/fulbright-program-vietnam/.

Established in 1946 and funded by the U.S. Congress, the Fulbright Program aims to achieve mutual understandings through academic and cultural exchanges.
