Vietnamese student traverses Europe to answer life questions

Vietnamese student traverses Europe to answer life questions

Thursday, March 01, 2018, 11:33 GMT+7

Working part-time, the young girl has managed to travel to dozens of European countries

A Vietnamese student has been embracing her lifestyle of wanderlust by traveling across Europe and other places around the world during her time as a student in France.

Huyen Le was a student of the chemistry-specialized class at Le Quy Don High School for Gifted Students in Da Nang City before taking off to France for her study at the University of Technology of Compiègne.

"France and the whole Europe have brought several new chapters to my life," Huyen said.

"I would not have known that the world is so beautiful, had I not got out of my home country to see other places," the Vietnamese student continued.

Before enjoying traveling, Huyen was just like many other young people, not knowing exactly what she really loves to do.

Thanks to various experiences from travel, she is now able to answer many important questions of her life, namely "Who is she?", "Where is she?", "What does she want?", "Why does she need to do that?", and "What does she have to do to achieve what she wants?"

Huyen has visited various places in France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Spain, Poland, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Whenever she has time and feels like wandering, Huyen simply books tickets and hops on the train.

Among many European countries Huyen has visited, she falls in love with Switzerland the most because of its beautiful landscape and scenery.

However, the nation is also known to be extremely expensive, making her moneyless after various trips to this particular country.

One of Huyen's most memorable times was in southern Italy and the Mediterranean Sea where she can find a little something of Vietnam with countless canals, rivers, and bustling streets with all kinds of trading activities.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, the country on the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe, also left her with various memories.

Huyen said the country is still under poverty with few schools and various war remnants across the nation where occasionally there are incidents of left-over bombs exploding.

When asked how she got money for all her trips, Huyen smiled and said that she had saved from her part-time work.

Whenever she does not have classes, she can be found busy working at a local store or a restaurant.

Huyen also shared that one economical way of traveling is to use "workaway,” a service in which travelers or "workawayers" contribute an agreed amount of time per day in exchange for lodging and foods provided by the hosts.

The list of countries which Huyen has visited continues to expand to Scandinavian places to spot the aurora borealis, South Africa, and even nations in South America.

Wherever she visits, Huyen is always proud to present her home country, Vietnam, to other international friends.

Huyen has high hope that Vietnam can develop more with its tourism because the country is blessed with beautiful scenery and various unique foods.

"One day, when asked about Vietnam, foreigners are not just reminded of the wars but they will think of its nature, mountains, and seas," Huyen said.
