A workshop on innovation management in Vietnamese small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) was organized in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday, with the participation of nearly 100 representatives from local businesses.

The event was jointly held by the Vietnamese-German University (VGU) and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Alfredo Suvelza from Germany’s University of Leipzig emphasized the importance of innovation management to boost the development and expansion of SMEs.

SME representatives also had a chance to discuss several methods to overcome the challenges of innovation in current economic status and to successfully implement innovative projects in their business.

The workshop was part of a long-term program VGU and the University of Leipzig launched in 2012 to facilitate innovation management in Vietnamese SMEs.
