Vietnam’s multi-faceted conglomerate TTC Group was honored in two categories at the 7th Asia-Pacific Best CSR Practices Awards held in Singapore on Wednesday.

The company won a prize in the Best Environment Friendly Project category, while its vice chairlady Dang Huynh Uc My took home the Woman Leadership Award.

The Best CSR Practices Awards 2017 was presented by networking organization CMO Asia, with a view to honoring the prestigious brands, organizations, and individuals in Asia that have made significant contributions and remarkable achievements in the social community activities in addition to their efficiency in production and business.

The Best Environment Friendly Project honors the most environmentally friendly businesses, whereas the Women Leadership Award is bestowed on honorable female leaders with outstanding achievements.

TTC has implemented organic standards in its sugar and agricultural products and has been certified by the International Control Union and Peterson Consultancy as the first organic sugar investment in Vietnam. Their products also line up to the international standards.

Nguyen Hai Tam, the first vice chairlady of the executive board of TTC Group, said the latest awards of the company are not only an objective evaluation of the global community but also a reflection of TTC’s efforts in economic fields and corporate social responsibility over the last 40 years.

“This is a strong motivation for us to keep consolidating and improving our products and services’ quality to dedicate more and more to the community,” Tam said.

In the meantime, besides the Women Leadership Award, My, the TTC Group vice chairlady, has previously been listed among the "Next-generation businesswomen" by Forbes Magazine Vietnam.

TTC has said it will orient the production and business activities in line with the Green - Clean - Effective and Sustainable criteria in the application, research and promotion of green technology.

The company is also committed to focusing on improving and enhancing operational standards in line with the world’s advanced standards in order to minimize the impact on the environment, and to investing in modern wastewater treatment systems as well as reuse of water to save resources.

Moreover, TTC has been actively implementing social activities such as supplying clean water to households in Ben Tre, Gia Lai Provinces in the 2015-16 period; planting trees in response to the World Environment Day; giving scholarships to disadvantaged students; building bridges; and organizing voluntary blood donations.

In agricultural products and sugar cane, TTC is currently applying organic production procedures in accordance with the USDA and EU standards, and developing a variety of health-friendly products.

In 2017, TTC will continue to be the organizer of the 5th TTC International Sugar Mill Annual Meeting with the theme "Restructuring Vietnam Sugarcane Industry" in Phan Thiet City.

Moreover, TTC is currently developing a series of wind power and solar power projects in many potential locations across the country.

The awards are not only international recognition for the prestige of the TTC brand, but also an objective assessment of TTC's commitment and dedication to sustainable growth.
