The Vietnam’s Graduates from Australia Club (VGAC) spent a night recalling sweet memories as they gathered to mark the club’s 25th anniversary in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday.

The event was an opportunity for VGAC members to enjoy the Australian atmostphere, and recall the best memories of living and studying in Australia.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lee Chang An, VGAC National Chairman, expressed his determination in continuing to build up the club’s network by recruiting new members, organizing the experience-sharing sessions, charity events, workshops and seminars to create networking opportunities for its members.

“We also want to contribute to the promotion of friendship, education, collaborative relations and mutual understanding between Vietnam and Australia”, he said.

According to Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Craig Chittick, education is among the focuses of the bilateral relations between two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1973.

The ambassador appreciated Vietnam’s potential for development, adding that there have been more than 50,000 Vietnamese studying at a wide range of Australian educational institutes.

VGAC was established in 1991 and currently has five chapters in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hue, Danang, and Can Tho with more than 6,000 members.
