Online communication etiquette education has been among topics that the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has instructed schools to offer to students during their extracurricular activities.

The instruction followed recent violent fights among students over online arguments.

Other topics may include future jobs in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, use of smartphones in daily life, family culture, and traffic culture.

Each school is requested to organize two extracurricular activities involving those topics every month.

The education department also requested middle schools and high schools to develop plans to educate students about adolescent reproductive health, the marriage and family law, and gender equality, with a minimum duration of 180 minutes per grade per semester.
