The VN 2016 flight departed from Paris landed in Ho Chi Minh City-based Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 4:15pm Wednesday, carrying a special passenger – the world number one tennis player Victoria Azarenka. Also onboard is Frenchman Gilles Simon, the world number 17. They will join with two other world-class players, Feliciano Lopez of Spain and Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia in the 2012 Heineken Stars which kicking off Thursday at the city’s Lan Anh Club. Azarenka, in pull and jeans, immediately attracted media attention as she showed up at the airport. The Belarusian addressed the press with a constant smile, despite her very long flight. “I don’t come here for touring Vietnam,” she told reporters. Although Heineken Stars is only a friendly tourney, Azarenka didn’t underestimate its importance, she added. The 23-year-old then left Tan Son Nhat airport for Rex hotel, and will start her online talk with Tuoi Tre readers at 7:30, which will be broadcast live at tv.tuoitre.vn, and covered on TuoiTreNews.
