“Do you love Hanoi or Saigon? Clever, simple illustrations by a Vietnamese graphics design student,” James tweeted about a photo collection by Vietnamese graphic designer Nhat Le, capturing the differences between the north and the south.
Through his book, people can see how Hanoians and Saigonese are different in arranging fruits, eating breakfast, holding guest reception among others.
After living and working in Saigon for more than 10 years and living in Hanoi for a quite long time, Nhat feels urged to do this graphic project.
My inspiration for this came after attending a graphic design competition on Vietnamese culture… It was difficult to discover and recreate the nicest things from each city, he said.
His work has gained popularity on the Internet after being published on a website since April 15 and English is used, aiming to promote Vietnamese culture to international friends.
Below are some of the illustrations.
