2,612 books worth nearly VND100 million (US$4,808) will be transferred to the Song Tu Tay island of Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago late this month during an art exchange program between the island and Ho Chi Minh City.

The books published by many local publishers will be brought to the island as part of the program to be held by HCMC Department of Culture and Information and HTV from June 26 to July 4.

According to the department, the books will be given towards the establishment of a library on the island district of Khanh Hoa Province. Also, Quang Trung Software Park donated two laptops worth VND21.9 million (US$1,053) to the library.

In addition, a photo book titled “Truong Sa trong Trai Tim Toi” (Spratly in my heart) has recently been released. The book boasts 105 pictures taken by local photo journalist Diep Duc Minh during his trips to the Spratly archipelago in January.
