UNESCO VN – ASEAN Heritage Festival canceled

Saturday, November 23, 2013, 17:01 GMT+7

The Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that the 2013 Da Lat Tourism Cultural Week, which is set to run from Dec 27 to 31,  won’t include the UNESCO Vietnam – ASEAN Heritage Festival as announced earlier.

The provincial People’s Committee has proposed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs delay the said festival to another time when preparations are ripe.

The organizer of the 2013 Da Lat Tourism Cultural Week said that so far only three out of 13 countries, namely Brunei, Thailand and Laos, have registered to participate in the program.

The program will thus feature only three main events, including the announcement of the 2014 Central Highlands – Da Lat National Tourism Year, activities to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Da Lat, and the fifth Da Lat Flowers Festival.
