Int’l culinary festival wraps up in HCMC

“Taste of the World” Culinary Festival 2013, co-organized by Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the municipal Tourism Association, was concluded late Sunday afternoon at section B of 23/9 Park in HCMC’s downtown area.

The 8th annual 4-day festival, held as part of the city’s tourism promotional program, has lured thousands of local and foreign diners to the area.

The event has become a fascinating playground with various cultural activities such as ethnic art performances, folk games, according to the organizer. It has also featured other art forms introducing the costumes and traditional music of many neighboring countries in the region.

The attractions available there, such as on-site food processing, the "5 Star Chef" mini-festival, and wine introduction programs, has also offer visitors a broader view on the diversity of typical dishes from various countries around the world, said the department.

There have been around 120 booths from 60 businesses including hotels and restaurants, representing cuisine from more than 20 countries and territories around the world.

Moreover, consul general agencies in HCMC and standardized units from the Ho Chi Minh City - 100 interesting things program, have also made their presence at the event.
