Diehard Vietnamese devotees of pop band JYJ are advised not to sport high heels when coming to the South Korean boys’ concert in Ho Chi Minh City tonight, the organizers noted Friday.
The high heel ban is meant to avoid injuries in case of jostling during the show, a twist that did happen at some previous concerts of Korean stars in Vietnam, the organizers said at yesterday’s press meeting.
The show, titled “The Return of the King 2014” does not welcome children under 7, either.
The Vietnam concert is part of the band’s Asian tours, besides Seoul, Hong Kong, Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, to mark the release of their third album, “Just us,” with more than 150,000 copies sold within a month since hitting shelves in July.
Despite the two previous visits to the Southeast Asian country, this is the first-ever performance of JYJ in Vietnam.
“The Return of the King 2014” will take place at 8:00 pm at the Military Zone 7 Stadium at 202 Hoang Van Thu Street, Tan Binh District.
Formed in 2010 under the management of C-JeS Entertainment firm, JYJ consists of Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu, three former members of the band TVXQ. Their group name is taken from the first letters of each member's names.
In April 2010, they released their debut record “The...” in Japanese, which topped the Japanese Oricon Albums Chart. Their next albums include their global debut “The Beginning” in 2010 and their second studio album and first Korean full-length album titled “In Heaven” in 2011. All of them debuted at number one on the Korean Gaon Album Chart.
JYJ has also conquered a large number of fans in many countries, including Vietnam.
