An art exhibition on autumn in Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital city, concluded this week after displaying dozens of works by local artists, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism announced Thursday on its website.

The one-day expo, entitled “Giai Dieu Thu Ha Noi” (Hanoi Autumn Melody), organized by the Hanoi College of Art, was held on October 1 at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Ba Dinh District.

It featured 70 representative artworks, centered on the autumn theme, from 21 artists and successful painters who are either lecturers or former students at the college, including Vuong Duy Bien, a sculptor who is also the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and Nguyen Ha Bac, a director.

The works, made from a wide range of materials, including oil paintings, bronze sculptures, and classic lacquers, reflect the artists’ perception of autumn and unique moments in the everyday life of Hanoi.

Besides awakening the passion and creative aspirations of youths, the expo was a chance for students to learn about painting skills, as well as to share experience with previous generations.

Several of the most striking works showcased at the exhibition included “Cau Long Bien Trong Nhung Ngay Danh My” (Long Bien Bridge during the Resistance War against the U.S.), “Hoang Hon Tren Cau Long Bien” (Sunset on the Long Bien Bridge), “Mua Thu Ha Noi” (Hanoi Autumn), and “Dem Hoi Long Tri” (Long Tri Night Festival).
