Vietnam’s first-ever televised reality show dedicated to hair styling is running from now until February 2015.

The show, “Vua Toc Viet Nam” (Vietnam Hair King), is jointly organized by Viet Times Co., Thoi Trang Tre (Young Fashion) Magazine, and VTV9 – a channel of national broadcaster VTV.

The enrolling rounds are scheduled to close on October 14, October 19, and October 26 in Hanoi, Can Tho, and Ho Chi Minh City, respectively.

Vietnamese-American hair stylist Allan Ngo has been named the show’s principal juror, who is joined by his local colleagues, Nguyen The Khoi and Nguyen Minh Phuong, as consultants.

“Vua Toc Viet Nam” is set to air on VTV9 at 7:00 pm every Thursday and Sunday, starting January 8, 2015.

The finale, to be broadcast live on VTV9 as well, is slated for February 14 at 7:00 pm.

The winner will be awarded VND300 (US$14,000) in cash and a hair salon worth VND700 million ($33,000).
