Asian fans to fly to Vietnam for T-ara’s show this weekend

Friday, January 09, 2015, 19:09 GMT+7

Fans from other Asian countries and territories have booked flights to Vietnam to watch T-ara – one of South Korea’s most-loved girl bands – perform in their concert this weekend, which is their only show in Southeast Asia in the first half of 2015.

T-ara’s show will start at 8:00 pm on Saturday at Lan Anh Music Center, at 91 Cach Mang Thang Tam, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City.

The group is also the first foreign band to perform in Vietnam this year.

Vietnam is the girls’ only performing destination in Southeast Asia in the first six months of this year.

A number of their adorers from such places as Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore have thus booked air tickets to Ho Chi Minh City to attend the show.

Hari Won, a half-Korean singer and master of ceremonies, will host the event.

Won, who has become a household name to many young Vietnamese and has been active in the local showbiz in recent years, also hosted T-ara’s show in August last year.

In preparation for their August 2014 visit to Vietnam, the girl group charmed Vietnamese fans with a short online video in which they appeared friendly and approachable.

In the video, they wore casual clothes and were smiling as they said “Hello” in Vietnamese.

The Saturday show will be the band’s fourth visit to this Southeast Asian country, where they have a huge number of fans.

The girls visited Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi in 2012 and 2013 before singing in their August 2014 event.

The band currently has six members after undergoing two changes to their formation since debuting in 2009.
