Consider these Valentine’s Day recommendations if you’re in Ho Chi Minh City

Tuoi Tre News recommends a number of ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day in Ho Chi Minh City.

Some flea markets will be organized this weekend in the downtown area like 2day SALE, Sale4Share, and one at the Youth Culture House, providing people who are in love with places to buy gifts for their beloved.

Valentine’s Day is no longer a special occasion for couples only, singles have their own ways to celebrate it.

An event titled “Singles Awareness Day” will be held at Lush Saigon Nightclub in District 1 on Saturday. “Just because you're forever alone doesn't mean that you need to stay home and cry by yourself on Valentine’s Day,” the nightclub wrote about the event on its Facebook. “We've made this day just for you with cocktail specials sure to drown your sorrows.”

Stix restaurant on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street in District 3 also hopes to bring its diners a night to remember with a love party featuring food, drinks, gifts, and music. The three luckiest couples will have a chance to win movie tickets from BHD Star Cineplex.

Cinemas have always been an ideal dating venue for couples. A series of blockbusters screened during the occasion promise to offer more choice to people who are finding a place to go on the date.

Two Vietnamese movies “Sieu Nhan X” (Superman X) and “Ngay Nay Ngay Nay” (The Lost Dragon) will likely breathe fresh new air to screening rooms.

One of the best ways to show love to one’s beloved is giving them gifts with love messages, and chocolate is always considered a symbol of love.

Chocolate firm Chocolate Graphics could be a choice. Each chocolate piece of the company that features a painting, photograph or message designed as required by customers will be a meaningful gift on the day.

In addition, gift shops around the city have also been decorated with pink, the color of love. Buyers can have ample choices when going there to buy presents for their lovers.

For those who want to make gifts on their own, Dai Quang Minh market, the place which has been considered a heaven of hand-made materials, will give them all they need.

Flowers are one thing that should not be forgotten on this occasion, especially when Valentine’s Day is celebrated around Tet, or the Lunar New Year, when Vietnam is full of flowers for decorative purposes.

Besides domestic flowers, foreign species have also caught the attention of buyers. The 38 Degree Flowers shop on Hai Ba Trung Street in District 1 is one of the places providing beautiful imported flowers for local people.

The shop is selling many kinds of foreign roses, including David Austin, Cupid, Frosty Rose, and even blue roses.

For those who prefer local flowers, Ho Thi Ky Flower market on Ly Thai To Street in District 10 should be noted.

The place offer flower bunches at lower prices than those charged by florists, but it requires buyers to have a keen sense and skillful hands to choose and make beautiful bouquets for their lovers.
